coaster plan for laser cutting. First image is the acrylic. Second is the layers for the coaster and the third image is the foundation of the coaster and the chips printed.


Notes:
    First time I made an appointment, I mistakenly chose the wrong size for my coaster. The pdf file being displayed whilst laser cutting was too big for the machine to work with. I had help with Peter in the Think Tank and another student measure the coaster right for the project. 
    Next appointment, I chose to engrave the center part of the coaster which is the pool table. Problem is the depth of the cut was not fit to put the wood chips inside to make the fun effect of shaking the chips.
Last and final appointment, I cut more hollow shapes to make more room for the chips and it can shake with ease now.
    The coaster is bigger than I have measured it, the pool table being 6 inches x 6 inches and the acrylic being 4 inches x 4 inches. Other than that, the coaster performs it job perfectly.

  Before refinement After refinement                With the critique I got from last week, I've worked on adding more to the environment. Adding trees and castle debris the landscape adds more to the storytelling of where this castle is situated in. The lighting added mood to castle by making it a mellow tone on the overall piece. With various materials at my disposal, I can apply more accurate textures to my castle such as adding the materials red dutch and brick gray which makes the castle more realistic. Adding more buildings to compliment the castle The various curves and objects I was working with. Used the group command to make work more efficient.  Testing various lightings Materials used for this project shaded Notes: - render makes the lighting dimmer, I'm not sure how to fix that -sunlight is the way to go since it is more easier to work with than spotlight - blue and purple are good colors for sunrises/sunsets

coaster plan

  glass panel wood the glass panel is flat whilst each end of the coaster has a divot to represent the hole the balls go in. I'm not sure how to measure this to reflect that it will be accurate to size of a coaster.
